Q1 What policies, if any, do you support or envision in managing land-based resources in Vermont (i.e. water, open-space preserves, parks)?

Environment

“Bring back 181 with the infamous “road rule” that had bipartisan support until it became politicized. Work to get a useful bill that will pass. Concentrate development (also more walkable, less fuel for traveling, supports public transit). More stable NRCD support. Otherwise, I’ve a bit to learn though I am a strong support of limiting development.”

Q2 Natural resources and the natural environment in Vermont contribute to tourism, public health, agriculture, and manufacturing production. What policies, if any, do you support that could contribute to environmental stewardship, environmental research, or environmental protections in Vermont?

Environment

“Maple syrup will go up for a few years (happening) then go down - need to transition to more heat tolerant trees now. Dairy - Jerseys are more heat tolerant than our beloved Holsteins. Then there is invasive species - what can we do??”

Q3 Vermont is facing growing flood risk, reduced snowpack, and altered forest composition. What policies, if any, do you support in addressing how natural disasters are affecting industries and life in Vermont?

Environment

“Vt’s flood plain map needs to be the projected flood plains 100 years from now. More microgrids to protect towns in an emergency.”

KEYWORDS: microgrid “flood plain”

Q4 Advances in artificial intelligence and expansion of data centers are expected to affect industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, education, and transportation across the country. What policies, if any, do you plan to implement to address these potential impacts in Vermont?

Artificial Intelligence

“Bring back H.727, An act relating to sustainable data center deployment. AI liability - huge problem. Currently the tool developer, the platform presenting the tool and users all share responsibility - meaning no one is responsible. The AI tool developers need to be made responsible. And get AI out of schools, it makes people dumber.”

KEYWORDS: liability

Q5 Electricity demand is increasing due to manufacturing, electrification, and data infrastructure. What role, if any, do you believe developing alternative energy sources should contribute to the country’s future energy mix? What plans, if any, do you have to develop these alternative energy sources in Vermont, and how might they affect job opportunities in the state (if at all)?

Energy

“Solar + batteries (grid level, not Li based) + smr (small modular nuclear at VT Yankee)”

KEYWORDS: solar, “grid levle battery”, smr
