Q1 What advisory mechanisms will you implement to ensure that evidence and scientific findings play a crucial role in your policymaking process?

Policymaking Process

“I use the Lean Manufacturing system to collect data to help me understand and resolve issues. This system includes KPI’s from data collecting and input from those closest to the problem. I have used an A3/9 Step problem solving tool that has helped me as a leader resolve several impassable issues. As a leader you must collect unbiased data and listen to the Team or the people who are closest to the problem to come to a true conclusion to a problem. Lean offers several problem-solving tools that I have come to trust to resolve any issue that I have faced over the years in Corporate America.”

Q2 Colorado farmers are facing multiple threats, amidst water scarcity and rising prices for fertilizer and other imported materials. As agriculture is our #1 export sector, in what ways do you imagine using your role to support evidence-based advancements to protect and support our farmers and natural resources in the years ahead?

AgricultureEnvironment

“Water is a precious commodity to farmers and the people of Fremont County. Fremont County must take control of our water and where it is distributed. We must work with all Red Counties to take control of all our resources within our Counties. We cannot continue to allow the State or Federal Government to control our water or natural resources. Working in Corporate America deals are always available. We need to work with small businesses and Corporate America to lower the cost-of-living for not only farmers, ranchers and businesses but for the people we represent. If the Red Counties of Colorado unite, I firmly believe we can make deals that benefit all of our businesses.”

Q3 America has a growing AI industry, supporting cutting-edge innovation but raising issues of resource use, privacy, and economics. What is the right balance of costs and benefits for new data center construction in Colorado, and how would your policies accomplish that balance?

Artificial IntelligenceEnvironment

“I am slowly learning about the AI world. I have to admit I am not a fan of AI to this point. I am a believer in technology if used correctly. Technology can be used to help farmers, ranchers and businesses. Machinery technology can be used to help resolve many issues. If you use modern technology, you must have the right team of engineers for the correct application or usage of technology. This goes to my earlier statement of listening and working with individuals who know what is needed and how to use the technology to benefit the intended goal that does not harm the environment or displace any community or business.”

Q4 Colorado has experienced a lingering measles outbreak since March of 2025. What evidence-based policies do you support to improve community and preventive health for your constituents, for infectious diseases and other threats?

Public Health

“I feel there is always a lot of politics and false information when it comes to infectious diseases or health concerns. We must tread lightly on this issue and ensure we listen to an organization or individuals we can trust but act in a manner of urgency to protect the people of Fremont County.”

Q5 What are your opinions on the current state of science literacy, and how could K-12 education standards be adapted to form a better public understanding of and relationship building in science?

K-12 Science EducationTrust in Science

“I have to admit I am not a fan of the Teachers Union, but I know from raising two children and watching/listening to our grandbabies I am grateful for the teachers we have in Fremont County. We must get politics out of our school agendas and get back to basics. Math, Science, History and English should be the core of every child’s education. Science was fun and exciting back in my days in school. We must bring back the enthusiasm I felt as a child and allow our children to learn all the great benefits of learning science and the basic fundamentals of an education to be proud of.”
