Q1 What advisory mechanisms will you implement to ensure that evidence and scientific findings play a crucial role in your policymaking process?

Policymaking Process

“As I’ve always done, I will ensure I meet with experts & getting expert testimony as much as possible. I believe in science and believe in staying current with the changing dynamics, discoveries, and research. This is especially true with climate change and all of the competing dynamics in our modern policy environment.”

Q2 Colorado farmers are facing multiple threats, amidst water scarcity and rising prices for fertilizer and other imported materials. As agriculture is our #1 export sector, in what ways do you imagine using your role to support evidence-based advancements to protect and support our farmers and natural resources in the years ahead?

AgricultureEnvironment

“I would like to support farmers in their goals to modernize their farming techniques, utilizing research and new evidence-based discoveries that improve efficiency, especially in terms of water use, livestock, and climate-hardy biodiversity.”

Q3 America has a growing AI industry, supporting cutting-edge innovation but raising issues of resource use, privacy, and economics. What is the right balance of costs and benefits for new data center construction in Colorado, and how would your policies accomplish that balance?

Artificial IntelligenceEnvironment

“We should ensure guardrails are in place to protect quality of life and the environment. For example, using closed-loop systems, ensuring they provide their own clean energy sources including small modular nuclear, and they are zoned in heavy industrial areas only keeping them far away from residences, churches, schools, etc. By making sure that data centers are required to be energy independent, it prevents costs from being passed on to consumers.”

Q4 Colorado has experienced a lingering measles outbreak since March of 2025. What evidence-based policies do you support to improve community and preventive health for your constituents, for infectious diseases and other threats?

Public Health

“I strongly believe in the use of proven vaccines. Seeing diseases that were nearly eradicated making a comeback is a serious public and community health issue. I believe it is our responsibility to ensure that evidence-based, factual information is provided to the public, so that parents & individuals can make educated choices for themselves and their families.”

Q5 What are your opinions on the current state of science literacy, and how could K-12 education standards be adapted to form a better public understanding of and relationship building in science?

K-12 Science EducationTrust in Science

“I believe we should be implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math) into state standards for our education system in Colorado. We should put more emphasis on critical thinking & life skills in our education system, as well.”
