Q1 What advisory mechanisms will you implement to ensure that evidence and scientific findings play a crucial role in your policymaking process?

Policymaking Process

“I support science and technology. When evaluating prospective businesses in these fields, I will examine the scientific tests and metrics used to substantiate their products. I will require claims and intended outcomes to be validated through logically applied quantitative measures.”

Q2 Colorado farmers are facing multiple threats, amidst water scarcity and rising prices for fertilizer and other imported materials. As agriculture is our #1 export sector, in what ways do you imagine using your role to support evidence-based advancements to protect and support our farmers and natural resources in the years ahead?

AgricultureEnvironment

“I will champion our farmers by ensuring water—an essential resource—is managed responsibly to support agricultural growth and prevent waste. Everyone who draws water from underground aquifers, streams, and rivers must be accountable to keep water affordable and help farmers maximize profits.”

Q3 America has a growing AI industry, supporting cutting-edge innovation but raising issues of resource use, privacy, and economics. What is the right balance of costs and benefits for new data center construction in Colorado, and how would your policies accomplish that balance?

Artificial IntelligenceEnvironment

“The industry must balance its goals with community support, ensuring nearby residents approve of its presence. It must also avoid imposing costs on taxpayers already struggling with everyday expenses. Finally, its operations should be environmentally responsible and compatible with the surrounding area.”

Q4 Colorado has experienced a lingering measles outbreak since March of 2025. What evidence-based policies do you support to improve community and preventive health for your constituents, for infectious diseases and other threats?

Public Health

“Scientific and medical evidence shows that political leaders have been wrong on this issue and that vaccination is essential to preventive health. Although parents may choose, leaders should strongly advocate vaccination.”

Q5 What are your opinions on the current state of science literacy, and how could K-12 education standards be adapted to form a better public understanding of and relationship building in science?

K-12 Science EducationTrust in Science

“Our education system is falling short in several areas of science and mathematics—not because teachers lack commitment, but because the system has been partially dismantled from the top down. Science teachers and local leaders must advocate for higher standards in both closely connected subjects.”
